Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and market-savvy Purchase Coordinator responsible for vendor sourcing, product discovery, and timely procurement of traditional and handcrafted items used in curated gift hampers. The role focuses on identifying reliable vendors, negotiating optimal pricing, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining on-time availability aligned with production and dispatch schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Sourcing & Development

Identify and onboard vendors for traditional, handcrafted, and cultural gifting items.

Conduct regular market visits to explore new product varieties, designs, and trends.

Build and maintain strong relationships with artisans, wholesalers, manufacturers, and local suppliers.
Product & Market Research

Continuously explore innovative, seasonal, and value-added traditional items suitable for gifting.

Benchmark pricing, quality, and availability across vendors.

Suggest new hamper combinations and product ideas based on market insights and demand.
Purchase & Negotiation

Execute purchase orders as per approved requirements, timelines, and budgets.

Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms to ensure cost efficiency.

Ensure best value procurement without compromising on quality and brand standards.
Order Management & Coordination

Ensure timely procurement and delivery to meet production schedules.

Coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations, warehouse) for demand planning.

Track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and vendor commitments.
Quality & Compliance

Verify product quality, packaging standards, and quantities upon receipt.

Resolve quality issues, shortages, or delays with vendors.

Maintain vendor records, pricing data, and purchase documentation.
Required Qualifications

Graduate in Commerce, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.

1–4 years of experience in procurement or purchase coordination.

Experience in gifting, handicrafts, FMCG, lifestyle, or retail sourcing preferred.

Exposure to local markets, artisan clusters, or traditional product sourcing is an added advantage.
