Role Overview
The Procurement executive will lead and manage the end-to-end sourcing and procurement function for the company, ensuring uninterrupted supply of raw materials, components, and services required for manufacturing fuses and circuit breakers. The role focuses on cost optimization, supplier development, quality assurance, and strategic sourcing aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production and business objectives
• Forecast material requirements based on production plans and demand trends
• Ensure cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality and compliance
2. Vendor Management & Development
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for electronic components, metals, plastics, and packaging materials
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations (quality, delivery, cost)
• Develop alternate vendor base to mitigate supply risks
3. Sourcing & Negotiation
• Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering
• Monitor market trends for key raw materials (e.g., copper, alloys, polymers)
4. Supply Chain Coordination
• Collaborate with production, planning, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability
• Minimize lead times and manage inventory levels efficiently
• Resolve supply disruptions proactively
5. Quality & Compliance
• Ensure procured materials meet required technical specifications and quality standards
• Work closely with QA/QC teams for vendor quality assurance
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
6. Budgeting & Cost Control
• Prepare and manage procurement budgets
• Track and report cost savings and procurement KPIs
• Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO)
7. Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor the procurement team
• Set performance goals and ensure continuous skill development
Key Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical)
• MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred)
• Computer Skill – MS Office & Familiarity with SAP.
Experience :
• 2-5 years of experience in procurement within electronics or electrical component manufacturing
• Strong experience in sourcing components for fuses, circuit breakers, or similar products
Skills:
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills - domestic and international suppliers
• Knowledge of electronic components and raw materials
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management
• Analytical and cost optimization mindset
• Leadership and team management abilities
