Our operations encompass the production of solar cells, wafers, glass, backsheets, encapsulants, junction boxes, frames, connectors, and the final assembly of PV modules. We are experiencing rapid growth and seek a dynamic and experienced General Manager.

Job Summary:

As the General Manager - Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational foundation of our newly established solar company. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the operations function from the ground up. You will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies, establishing processes, and building a high-performing team. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a deep understanding of the solar industry, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Description:

• Operational Strategy & Setup: Develop and implement the overall operational strategy for the company, aligning it with the business plan. Establish key operational processes, procedures, and systems.
• Facility Setup (if applicable): Oversee the setup of manufacturing facilities, project sites, or other operational infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulations and timelines.
• Team Building: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing operations team. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Supply Chain Management: Establish and manage a robust supply chain, including sourcing of materials, vendor selection, and inventory management.
• Manufacturing/Project Execution Oversight (depending on focus):
• Manufacturing: Oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement production plans, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Project Execution: Manage the complete project lifecycle, from design and engineering to installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and quality parameters. This includes managing design engineering, supply chain, quality, installation, commissioning & maintenance teams for On-Grid, Off-Grid, Solar Water pumping and Solar PV systems.
• Quality Control: Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality management system to ensure the highest standards of product and service quality.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the operational budget, monitor performance against targets, and implement cost optimization strategies.
• Performance Reporting: Develop and provide regular reports on operational performance, key metrics, and progress against goals.
• Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, government agencies, and customers.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, implement best practices, and drive operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of [Number] years of experience in a senior operational leadership role within the solar industry. Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
