Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced MySQL DBA (Database Administrator) to support and manage MySQL and Microsoft SQL databases for our applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database performance, security, backups, migrations, and ensuring high availability of production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, administer, and maintain MySQL and Microsoft SQL databases.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues with developers and testers.
• Respond to database outages and resolve issues quickly.
• Perform database migrations across private datacenters, cloud platforms, and hosting environments.
• Conduct database patching and upgrades to maintain security and performance.
• Manage database backups and ensure redundancy according to RPO/RTO requirements.
• Monitor and maintain production database environments to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
• Design scalable and cost-effective database solutions for applications.
• Automate database deployment, configuration, and administration tasks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of DBaaS services (RDS, Azure SQL) and IaaS (EC2, Azure VMs).
• Experience working in Linux command-line environments (OEL/RHEL preferred).
• Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and write bash scripts.
• Basic networking knowledge (routing, ports, firewall concepts).
• Understanding of system engineering and software development concepts.
• Experience in automation and scripting for database management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing databases in production environments.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams including developers and operations teams.
