Database Management
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach
  • Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration and management.
  • Proficient in Postgres database performance tuning.
  • Perform heterogeneous migrations ( from Oracle to Postgres/ MySQL to Postgres)
  • Develop Stored procedures, load balancing, and High Availability.
  • Proficient in backup and recovery in Community and EDB Postgres
  • Primary core competency is PostgreSQL database with a mix of other Oracle and MySQL as secondary.
  • Through understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and solving complex performance problems.
  • Experience managing operations on core and cloud-based infra environments.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data inconsistencies.
  • Provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for the Incidents.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation supporting database issues arising from customer queries.
  • Good knowledge of EDB database tools like Barman, EFM, etc.
    Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and prevent recurring issues.
    • Analyze and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings. Implement best practices to enhance system efficiency.
    • Administer, maintain, and monitor multiple database environments, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability.
    • Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database provisioning, deployments, and monitoring. Implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
    • Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development and infrastructure initiatives.
